Description
I noticed a slight issue, wherein using Orinoco cards in conjunction

with gNewSense results in a wireless card that doesn’t quite connect. As far as I know, Orinoco cards don’t require firmware blobs, so this should be a non-issue.

I was wondering if anyone is experiencing similar issues, if this is merely a technical error on my part, or a coalesce of the two. If this is an isolated problem, I’d like to know how to fix this, so that I may connect.

iwconfig eth0 yields an essid, and dhclient only notices a DHCPOFFER, but doesn’t bind itself to an address.

This trend re-appears in Debian Etch (4.0), but not Debian Sarge (3.1). Sarge recognizes and connects with Orinoco cards flawlessly. Etch exhibits the same behavior that gNewSense does.

Resolution
This was a deltad bug, presumably it works, we’ve either broken it for freedom issues or it doesn’t work in Hardy. For any of those cases, nothing we can do about it -bbrazil May 17, 2008, at 12:11 PM

Someone needs to debug this, I suspect it’s not something we broke. -bbrazil December 25, 2007, at 08:57 PM
