Description
gNewSense found my DEBIAN DVD ISO’s stored on a VFAT partition and truncated them both to 0 bytes. restored them and it happened again on the next boot.

“file size is 0 bytes, chain length is > 0 bytes, truncating”

these two 4GB files seem normal before dosfschk destroyed them. they were downloaded by bittorrent and had burned/installed just fine. they were created in Linux then transferred to the VFAT partition.

Resolution
Eh, VFAT can’t handle 4GB files. The limit is 2GB.

This is a bug for upstream anyway.
